Twelve Internet Skincare Hacks One Should Never Try At Home

Most people want clearer, fairer, and blemish-free skin but not everyone can afford the expensive skincare treatments and products, especially in these challenging times. But believe it or not, the keys to having radiant skin are just lying around in your house.

Skincare and Acne Prevention Hacks Using Ordinary Household Items

Water

Water is one of the best and most basic cleansing and moisturizing agents of nature. Thorough washing in the morning and at night helps get rid of all the dirt and bacteria you accumulated throughout your day.

Drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water a day also helps hydrate your body and makes your skin healthier. Of course, you’ll need to make sure that your water is potable and free from chemicals. Check if your water filtration system is updated so you lower the risk of contamination.

Salt

Salt is good for rubbing away dry and dead skin from your body. It is recommended that you use varieties that have not been processed and rid of their beneficial minerals such as Epsom, Himalayan, and Sea salts.

Baking Soda

Bring relief to sunburns and insect bites by mixing baking soda with water. Apply to the paste to the affected area to soothe the pain. If you mix it with hydrogen peroxide, you have for yourself your own homemade remedy for yellowish teeth.

Coffee Filters

If you’re bothered by your oily skin, a coffee filter is the answer to your problem. Paper coffee filters trap oily substances in your coffee. If it works in your coffee machine, it’ll work for you, too. Cut one up and use the pieces to blot out the excess oil from your forehead, nose, and other problem areas.

Green Tea

Green tea is a great way to reduce blood sugar and insulin levels that produce acne and pimples. Brew a pot of green tea and, once it cools down, spritz on your face for acne scar treatment.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar contains organic acids that keep germs, bacteria, and oil at bay. It also has succinic and lactic acids to prevent inflammation and remove scars from acne. Mix one part ACV with three parts water and simply dab on the affected areas. Just don’t go overboard with this acne treatment.

Honey and Turmeric

Get rid of acne fast by combining a spoonful of honey with half a teaspoon of turmeric. Apply the mixture to the affected area and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes before washing it off with warm water.

Oatmeal

More than just a staple for breakfast, oatmeal contains chemicals that have anti-inflammatory properties that can be used for skincare treatment and relief from skin irritations such as sunburn, eczema, insect bites, or chronic dry skin.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is a great antibacterial agent and exfoliant. It removes dead skin, unclogs pores, and dries active acne. Mix it with rosewater and honey and apply twice a day to the affected region. Let it sit for 10 minutes and wash off with clean water.

Aspirin

Bet you didn’t expect to see aspirin as part of this list, right? But it is a great remedy for pimples and blemishes. Crush one aspirin and turn it into a paste with some water. Apply the paste on the zit and leave for a few minutes before washing it off with soap and water.

You no longer need to go out and buy the latest moisturizer or cream. There are a lot of other household items you can use to improve your skin condition. A lot of these items are inexpensive and already in your homes. Try them out and figure out which ones work best with your skin type.
